Version 2.1 Launch — The Impending Crash of Waves (July 16, 2025)
The long-awaited Version 2.1 update has splashed into Zenless Zone Zero, bringing the summer-themed event arc “The Impending Crash of Waves” to life. Headlining the patch are two new playable Agents — Ukinami Yuzuha and Alice Thymefield — each bringing fresh mechanics and stylish flair to the battlefield. This update runs from July 16 to September 4, 2025, and is packed with new story chapters, Hollow challenges, limited-time events, and quality-of-life improvements designed to keep Proxies engaged all summer.
Players will dive into the vibrant new zone Sailume Bay, a coastal resort district hiding more than just scenic views. Expect unique enemy types, environmental hazards, and a set of summer activities that blend combat trials with lighthearted mini-games. Both newcomers and veterans will find reasons to explore, grind, and strategize.
Highlights of the 2.1 Update
- New S-Rank Agent – Ukinami Yuzuha: A Physical Support unit specializing in boosting Anomaly Buildup Rate and Disorder DMG. Her kit makes her a perfect partner for Anomaly DPS Agents, and her summer skin is available in the in-game shop.
- New S-Rank Agent – Alice Thymefield: A Physical Anomaly DPS with elegant blade-based combat, capable of triggering high-frequency Assault procs when paired with strong supports.
- New Zone – Sailume Bay: Explore a tropical-themed Hollow area, complete time-limited quests, and unlock exclusive rewards, including a special Bangboo variant.
- Limited-Time Banners: Phase 1 (Jul 16–Aug 6) features Yuzuha alongside select reruns; Phase 2 (Aug 6–Sep 3) spotlights Alice with Yanagi. Weapon banners include their signature W-Engines.
- Event – Splash Circuit: Participate in wave-based survival challenges where defeating enemies quickly fills a “Tide Meter” for bonus loot, including Polychromes, upgrade mats, and cosmetic items.
Yuzuha’s support capabilities and Alice’s raw DPS potential open up entirely new team compositions. Strategic players can pair them for maximum Anomaly uptime, while casual players will enjoy their flashy animations and stylish designs.
Beyond new characters and zones, Version 2.1 brings extensive balance adjustments to older Agents, optimizes controller navigation, and introduces customizable quick-swap loadouts for faster team changes.
